What's included

Everything your team needs — nothing you don't.

Private storage

Your files are never publicly accessible

Every file lives in private storage and is served through short-lived signed URLs. There are no public links and no accidental exposure.

Layered access control

Role, department, and folder permissions — all working together

Assign access at the role level, the department level, or down to a specific folder. The backend enforces every rule on every request.

Secure sharing

Share files outside your organization without losing control

Generate time-limited share links for external recipients. Track who has viewed them and revoke access at any time.

Full audit trail

Every upload, download, share, and permission change is logged

Sensitive actions are captured in a tamper-evident log so your administrators can always explain what happened and when.

Built-in security

Control and visibility you can rely on.

Private by default

Files are stored in private object storage. No file is reachable without a valid signed request that passes your organization's access rules.

Backend-enforced permissions

The API verifies role, department, and folder access before every file operation. The UI cannot override or bypass what the backend decides.

Tenant isolation

Your organization's vault is strictly separated from every other. There is no shared storage, no shared namespace, and no cross-tenant data access.

Audit-aware operations

Uploads, downloads, shares, and permission changes are all logged with actor, timestamp, and outcome — ready for review or compliance reporting.

Common questions

Answers before you commit.

What exactly is File Vault?

File Vault is a secure document management platform for organizations. When you subscribe, you get a fully isolated vault environment where your team can store, organize, and share files with strict access control and a complete audit trail.

How is my organization's data kept private?

Your files live in private object storage and are never publicly accessible. Every file request is served through a short-lived signed URL that expires after use. There are no public links by default.

Can I control which team members see which folders?

Yes. You can assign access at the role level, the department level, or down to an individual folder. The backend enforces every rule on every request — the UI cannot override it.

What happens when someone leaves the organization?

You can revoke a user's access immediately. Any active file shares they created can also be revoked from the admin panel, and the audit log records the full history of their activity.
